Starlink is a satellite internet service offered by SpaceX, the aerospace company founded by Elon Musk. The service uses a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit to provide high-speed internet access to users in areas where traditional internet service providers (ISPs) are not available or are unreliable.
Starlink is still in the beta testing phase, with the service being gradually rolled out to users in select areas of the world. The initial setup includes a Starlink dish and modem, which can be installed outside your home or business to connect to the satellite network. The service promises to provide internet speeds of up to 100 Mbps with low latency, which is a significant improvement over many satellite internet services currently available.
I haven’t personally tried it yet, but I have a friend who lives in a rural area and they swear by it. They were previously stuck with slow and unreliable internet, but since switching to Starlink, they say it’s been a game-changer.
